This is one of my Grandma's recipes. Growing up when we would make trip to visit my grandparents I always remember looking forward to big family dinners at her house. I really do think I get my love for entertaining and gathering my friends and family around the table from her! What I love about this recipe is it makes 2 9x13 pans. So it is the perfect dessert to make when you are planning on lots of company. It would make for a great dessert for your 4th of July get togethers!

Ingredients:

1 white cake mix

1 1/4 cups water

1/3 cup oil

3 Egg whites

2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese

4 cups powdered sugar

1 pint of whipping cream

1 can of cherry pie filling

1 can of blueberry pie filling

Directions:

  1. Mix cake ingredients as directed on box

  2. Divide into 2 greased 9x13 cake pans

  3. Bake about 15 minutes

  4. While the cakes are cooling, whip the whipping cream until it holds a peak

  5. Mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar together

  6. Fold the whipping cream into the cream cheese mixture

  7. Spread onto the two cakes

  8. Add your choice of pie filling. I prefer blueberry and cherry the best!

Enjoy!
